Mission
Alzheimer’s persists as an incurable disease that currently affects 5.7 million people. Millions of dollars are spent on designing the next “miracle drug” to treat symptoms and slow the progression of Alzheimer’s when what we really need is a cure. Research shows that by 2050 there will be 50 million people living with Alzheimer’s disease, more than ever before in history. The last thing we want for ourselves or our loved ones is to be a part of this staggering statistic.
My momma was diagnosed with this detrimental disease years ago, and I’m more passionate and motivated today than ever to better understand the brain and options for fueling our brains WITH FOOD.
I have designed and produced handmade pottery for many years, but today my focus is redirected to a bigger cause. For the past several years, I’ve read and researched everything I can get my hands on in reference to health and wellness for our brains. My goal is to bring you relevant and current research about Alzheimer's, specifically on eating for a healthy brain.
Here at My Texas Table, I’ll be sharing with y’all how I’ve changed my eating habits, the very real struggles of staying focused, and recipes that I think you will just love! I’ll talk about gut health, lifestyle changes, and exercise tips, which also serve as huge factors in the prevention of Alzheimer’s. I’m here to empower you to take control of your health and support you as you choose the lifestyle that suits you best.
Come and join me in this journey to enjoy a long, healthy, and happy life!
Hugs,
Carrie
