Have you ever felt like you just need to get away? Maybe you take a drive in the country, get some fresh air and have some REAL fun?
Have you ever been to Round Top/Warrenton Antiques Fair? It’s located in the heart of the beautiful Hill Country in Texas. If not, then really?! I know this is a Texas thing, and I’m from Texas ‘n all, but think about this in the Fall! Round Top/Warrenton is world-renowned for their antique shopping. People plan months, if not years in advance to shop there for not only antiques, but vintage collectibles, jewelry, architectural and industrial salvage, guns, home decor, apparel, and artwork from some of Texas’ finest. They literally come from all over the world to shop in the barns, dance halls, under tents, and in the fields. It’s flat out crazy 🙂
In Round Top there’s the Junk Gypsy store…you can’t miss it! Tell me you’ve heard of Aime and Jolie Sikes? They are not only the heart ‘n soul behind the store, but they’ve starred on HGTV, designed Dierks Bentley’s airstream, the go-to decorator for Miranda Lambert! Now that’s just pure awesomeness!
Some of our favorite restaurants near the square are Royers Round Top Cafe, Teague’s Tavern, and Mandito’s, and you can’t forget your slice of homemade pie and fresh roasted coffee at Royers Pie Haven…so yum! You’ll want to book your trip soon at one of the local B&B’s, because they fill up super fast! One of our favorite places to stay is the Grand Fayette Hotel in Fayetteville’s Historic Square. I just love those gorgeous rooms. Also, make your reservations with Chefs Kathy and George Valtasaros at The Wine Bar located inside the hotel. The food is really some of the best…just to die for!
This past Spring, Texas Farmhouse Pottery had our first pop-up event at The Barn @ Bar W Field in Warrenton, TX. It was right down the street from the Round Top Henkel Square. We were grateful to have the opportunity from our sweet friends, Sweetie ‘n Sam, to take over the barn. As they exited after last Fall’s show to pursue a different direction, they entrusted us to take care of the barn, and that promise will be fulfilled 🙂
If you didn’t make it out to the Spring show, you missed it! We were blessed. It was a great turnout in The Barn. We had a variety of wares from many talented artists/makers mostly from Texas. We not only sold pottery from four (4) ceramic artists, but there were leather goods, jewelry, hand-painted farmhouse signs, hand-painted cards and canvas, notecards, soaps, candles, pickles, olive oil and coffee.
This Fall we’re going to concentrate on your needs for Thanksgiving and Christmas displaying an eclectic mix of crafty, arty, lovely, quirky, & vintage stuff. The barn will be totally transformed, and we’ll have a special announcement 45 days out. Get Ready! We just might be bringin’ back the porch/bed swings and the repurposed lighting since it was such a hit in the Spring. So, be on the lookout!
You’ll definitely want to come early to hand pick your one-of-a-kind pieces, because none of these artists/makers produce large, unlimited batches. So y’all come on out to support Texas-made products, and once again a percentage of sales will go to charity.
So, I guess we’ll see you at the Round Top/Warrenton Antique Fair in the Fall! Remember, that’s The Barn @ Bar W Field. (Round Top address, but Warrenton area) I’m so excited!! It’s usually a family affair, so you’ll want to invite your momma ‘n daddy, sisters, brothers, spouse, girlfriends, and don’t forget your dog, chicken and/or pot belly pig 🙂 Don’t miss it! It’s nothin’ you’ve ever experienced before. It’s just kind of hard to explain without you seeing for yourself. So hop on the bandwagon, and put it on your calendar!
The opening day is Sept. 20, and it runs through October 7, 2018. I’ll periodically keep you updated and give you reminders of the Fall show through FB and IG…AND I’ll be sending you backroad directions straight to The Barn @ Bar W Field, so you won’t even see any traffic!
Love Y’all!
